Read my lines before they fade
‘d tell you a forgotten story
a fable and a fairy tale
of a battered soul that wants to speak

not the words of worldly glory
but the gist of bygone nights
-an unsung song of chronic pain
a deep cut scar on the face of life

Guilt

A face and thought thats lost in time
Shedding tears for an unknown crime
You lied to self when you hate to lie
Is it the guilt that makes you cry?

You never knew the night would stay
Months would pass but not that day
It still feels like the day before
My eyes are closed, they sleep no more.

Is there something I could do
That would take you off this blue
Or should I stay but out of sight
leave you lone and let you fight!
